Update: Cadillac is a piece, so I can’t embed the video. watch it here:
An overhaul of first-day posts, I know. I promise that I’ll slow down soon enough (not that it’s a good thing or anything). Anyhow, I’ve been watching a lot of T.V. over the summer and I’ve realized that commercials are actually really compelling. Especially car commercials. More than once, I’ll be hunched over my laptop working on that CTS (Carpal Tunnel Syndrome), only to be attracted to the T.V. to watch a commercial for a slightly more financially straining but rewarding CTS. (Cadillac) Terrible pun, yeah so sue me. More and more car companies are starting to employ some sweet tracks into their commercials (Mitsubishi, Chevy, etc. etc.), and if it’s not working on the general public, it’s sure as heck working on me.
The “sweet” find of the summer: Black Iris Music - Fire Hydrant Floods
Produced by a real Indie group specially for the commercial, it’s reminiscent of the hard hitting bass lines of Justice and a catchy guitar riff of Ratatat. Ratatice, if you will. Shut up, I’m clever.
Listen and love, haters.
